Philip Lewis is an experienced Business Development Executive with a focus on finance, sales and strategy. Philip has used his 20+ years of corporate expertise to startup a number of profitable business ventures including LCI Consulting Inc, a boutique management consultancy firm of which he is a director and business development consultant. As such Philip effectively delivers on business requests for financial modelling, marketing strategy, product development, process design, governance frameworks, management training and sales training. His achievements span a range of industries including Tourism, Education, IT, Telecommunications and Security. Philip is also the co-founder and a director of Northpoint Consulting Inc, an ICT consultancy focusing on project management and project resourcing.
Philip’s background consists of working at Cable & Wireless for several years in various senior roles. He holds a Master's of Engineering degree (MEng Hons) and started his career by designing and implementing the networks that triggered the explosion of GSM mobile and Internet services in Barbados. This success initiated Philip’s rise into regional management positions, responsible for the shared-network operations and then new product development and go-to-market teams.
Philip transitioned into senior commercial roles on attaining his Master’s of Business Administration (MBA Hons) with distinction from Durham Business School. As Vice-President of Business Development, Philip had joint responsibility for the Enterprise and Government sales teams across the Caribbean, successfully managing the regional sales pipeline and delivering year-on-year growth. With the executive strategy team reporting to the CEO, Philip held responsibility for the financial modeling and programme management of future lines of business, including mergers and acquisitions.
As part of the Barbados Investment & Development Corporation (BIDC) trade delegations, Philip has spoken at several investor development events in Guatemala, Toronto and Washington and has lectured in Telecommunications Regulation & Policy at the University of The West Indies (UWI). He spent several years in the British Territorial Army and the Barbados Defence Force (reserves) as an army officer, commissioned at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK. Philip is currently the President of the Barbados ICT Professionals Association (BIPA) and a Trustee for the Barbados Fair Trade Commission. He is an avid squash player and an enthusiastic although frustrated golfer.
