Four years ago, the Caribbean Examinations Council embarked on a journey of organisational transformation so that the organisation could leverage its considerable strength and move to the next level. Two fundamental elements in this journey were the full incorporation of ICT in the daily work of the Council to enable it to function as an IT-Intelligent organisation and the total re-engineering of the human resource function to help create world class capability among staff.
LCI Inc was engaged to lead that HR transformation process a) because of the track record of its principles and b) its understanding of the contribution of HR to organisational strategic transformation. LCI consultants undertook a comprehensive diagnostic of the status of human resource management and then proceeded to work closely and interactively with senior management and line staff to develop standards, design new systems, establish more effective procedures that are symbiotically aligned to the overall transformation agenda.
Thanks to LCI Inc, CXC now has an integrated customised HRD system, has hired new staff utilising more rigorous selection processes, has a performance objective setting and measurement system that is also aligned to the annual strategic plan.
We continue to use LCI Inc to support the streamlined HR Department, assist in the handling of HR matters of the highest sensitivity and in the hiring of top executives. LCI has demonstrated competence in operational systems and detail as well as in the strategic and the macro planning process.
I contacted LCI for the development and delivery of a bespoke Management Programme. One of the most compelling and unique aspects of the LCI team is their ability to bring best practice derived from their international and regional exposure tempered by a real understanding of the realities being faced by Leaders in our cultural context.
The programme is modular with each module building on the previous and although we ran two programmes simultaneously LCl's adaptability really came to the fore as the emphasis on certain aspects was adjusted in response to the emerging needs of each group.
Although many of the participants were not previously known to each other LCI was able to engender a sense of team cohesiveness early on in the programme.
Weeks after completion we are still receiving positive feedback and the Management Programme has now become a regular feature on our annual Training Calendar.
